Hey! My name's Christie Odom and this is my fourth year attending USA. I went to high school at MGM, and as soon as I graduated in 2007 I started classes at South. In addition to school, I have a part time job at a daycare. I have been there for almost 4 years now and I LOVE it! The children at my job are actually the reason I decided to major in Elementary Education. My kids most definitely have my heart! I realized that there was nothing that I would rather do than be a teacher (and a continual learner). Knowledge is one of the most important things that can be passed on to children. I would love to be able to help educate them as they grow and hopefully be able to teach in an exciting, yet memorable way.
I have lived here in Mobile my whole life. I have a very big, close knit family. Between birthday parties, softball tournaments and football games, I never have a dull moment. When I'm not at school or work, I like to spend my time outside. I would much rather be outdoors than to be stuck inside behind a TV. I love shopping, like most girls, but if you don't find me shopping you will probably find me fishing or playing sports (even though I am not too good). I'm a big animal lover;I love my dog Molly, and I think I'm addicted to Redbull. Other than that, I think I'm just a typical girl trying to make the most out of the life that has been given to me!
Christie, thank you for your dedication to further your education. Future generations need teachers that are passionate about their career. As I am sure you know, children look up to their teachers. I am sure you are going to be a great role model in your classroom one day. Good luck and I hope the best for you!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see "and a continual learner." That's what it takes!
